J149 3-Person couch - Dark Blue

A 1978 spoke-back sofa light enough for a small living room, long enough for a proper nap.

Erik Ole Jørgensen — an upholsterer before he was a furniture designer — drew the J149 three-person couch for FDB Møbler, and the interplay of frame and cushion is his signature. Here the nature-lacquered solid oak spoke-back holds loose cushions in Main Line Flax Dark Blue (36).

Materials

Solid oak, nature lacquered; loose cushions upholstered in Main Line Flax Dark Blue (36)

Dimensions

74.6 in W x 28.1 in D x 31.5 in H; 72.1 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Certifications

FDB Møbler holds FSC chain-of-custody certification (FSC-C164841) and is distributed in North America by Rosendahl Design Group, a Certified B Corporation

Common Questions

Is the J149 a full three-seater?
Yes. It measures 74.6 inches wide by 28.1 inches deep, seating three adults or one person stretched out along its length.

Will the dark blue fabric darken the room?
Less than a fully upholstered sofa would. The open spoke-back frame exposes light nature-lacquered oak all around, so the Dark Blue (36) cushions read as accents rather than a solid mass.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
