J149 3-Person couch - Black

Long enough for a nap along its length, yet light and airy in the frame — the 1978 three-seater in black leather.

Erik Ole Jørgensen called the J149 a 'proper' sofa: room for a small family, or one person stretched full length, on the spoke-back frame he designed for FDB Møbler in 1978. Black semi-aniline leather over nature lacquered oak keeps the grain of the hide visible against the pale wood.

Materials

Nature lacquered oak frame; black semi-aniline leather upholstery

Dimensions

74.6 in W x 28.1 in D x 31.5 in H; 72.1 lbs

Designer

Erik Ole Jørgensen, 1978

Care

Dust with a soft, dry cloth; blot spills; condition occasionally

Common Questions

Can an adult lie down comfortably on the J149?
Yes — the J149 was conceived as a 'proper', nap-length sofa at 74.6 in wide overall, with room for a small family seated or one person lying along its length.

How do I care for semi-aniline black leather?
Dust with a soft, dry cloth and blot spills immediately; because semi-aniline leather carries only a light finish, an occasional neutral leather conditioner keeps it supple, and shade protects it from fading.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
