J166 Jørna Chair - Dark Grey

The armchair is one of the most important pieces of furniture in the home. It also has a very special status in Danish furniture design. The armchair is also a spot where we can relax and recharge. When the famous architect Poul Volther created the Jørna armchair, he had his wife in mind, hence the name. Jørna relaxed with her knitting with long knitting needles - so there was made room for them too. To this day, there is room for knitting, laptop or iPad in the comfortable armchair.
Poul M. Volther (1923–2001) succeeded Børge Mogensen as head of the FDB Møbler design studio in 1950. A trained cabinetmaker and lecturer at the Royal Danish Academy, he created the iconic J46 chair—Denmark's best-selling chair with over 850,000 units sold.
Part of a heritage rooted in the Danish cooperative movement, FDB Møbler is a Certified B Corporation committed to sustainable production, responsible sourcing, and designs built to last for generations.
