J166 Jørna Chair - Cognac

Cognac leather on pale oak is the warmest reading of Poul Volther's armchair for his wife Jørna.

The J166 from FDB Møbler was drawn with room for Jørna's long knitting needles; it hosts laptops and novels just as graciously. This version sets Denver semi-aniline leather in Cognac against a nature-lacquered oak frame that shows its grain.

Materials

Oak frame, nature lacquered; upholstered in Denver semi-aniline leather, Cognac

Common Questions

Will the cognac leather patinate?
Yes — semi-aniline Denver leather deepens in tone and gains character with use, while a light protective finish handles everyday life. Cognac shows this evolution most beautifully.

How much room should I allow for it?
Plan on about 30.1 by 29.7 inches. The chair stands 34.1 inches tall and weighs 19.4 pounds, so it moves easily between rooms as needs change.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
