J166 Jørna Chair - Cognac

Cognac leather against smoked oak gives Volther's Jørna the patina of a chair inherited, not bought.

Poul Volther designed the J166 for his wife with clearance for her long knitting needles; from FDB Møbler, this version pairs a smoked, oiled oak frame with Cognac Denver semi-aniline leather — two materials that deepen together over the years.

Materials

Oak frame, smoked and oiled; upholstered in Denver semi-aniline leather, Cognac

Common Questions

Will this colorway age well?
It's built to: semi-aniline Cognac leather darkens and gains character with use, and the oiled smoked-oak frame keeps its depth — the pairing improves rather than tires.

Where did the name Jørna come from?
From Volther's wife. He shaped the chair around how she sat and knitted, which is why its proportions still welcome a laptop, book, or handwork today.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
