J166 Jørna Chair - Beige

Pale beige upholstery on smoked oak — the highest-contrast natural pairing in Volther's Jørna series.

Poul Volther designed the J166 armchair for his wife Jørna, leaving space for her long knitting needles; from FDB Møbler, this version floats Main Line Flax Beige (61) fabric within a dark smoked, oiled oak frame.

Common Questions

Why choose smoked oak over natural?
For depth: smoking darkens the wood right through while the oiled surface keeps the grain alive, giving the pale Beige (61) seat a strong frame to stand out against.

Does the Jørna work as a second living-room chair?
That's its natural role — compact at 30.1 inches wide and 19.4 pounds, it adds a real armchair's comfort beside a sofa without competing for floor space.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
