J166 Jørna Chair - Brown

Tobacco tones on dark grain: brown textile and smoked oak make the most enveloping Jørna colorway.

Poul Volther's J166 — the armchair he named for his wife and sized around her knitting — arrives here from FDB Møbler in Main Line Flax Brown (15) on a smoked, oiled oak frame. Fabric and wood sit within a shade of each other, so the chair reads as one dark, warm whole.

Common Questions

Is the all-dark colorway hard to place?
No — tonal brown-on-smoked-oak behaves like a solid piece of dark furniture, grounding pale Scandinavian rooms and blending into libraries and dens equally well.

What did Volther design the J166 for?
For his wife Jørna's hours of knitting — he left room for her long needles — which is why the chair still fits a person plus a project so comfortably.

Care Guide +

FDB Møbler furniture is crafted from FSC-certified wood, powder-coated steel, and OEKO-TEX textiles. Keep away from direct heat and sunlight. Dust with a soft cloth; clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For lacquered surfaces, avoid harsh chemicals. For oiled wood, re-oil periodically. For upholstery, vacuum regularly and address spills promptly. Lift furniture rather than dragging across floors.
